Freelancers were tasked with leaving a scanner running at a fixed location for 30 minutes. During that time the freelancers were attacked by what appeared to be animated corpses.
The corpses had numerous cybernetic devices attached to damaged areas of the body, and a device attached to the spinal cord. These devices were used to operate the corpse like a puppet by some kind of external controlling force. Investigation of the devices was hampered by their nature, with each one being a hermetically sealed device with no clear point of entry. This suggests they were built in situ using nanotechnology. To date, none of the nanoengineers working at the Farm are capable of constructing anything without a fairly large device similar to a 3D printer.
