Research has been done on the Russian Roulette anomaly and its properties. After a lot of theoretical modelling it seems possible to generate the solid field outside of an anomaly using a suitable transmitter. All that remains now are practical engineering problems and the device can go to prototype.
A means needs to be found to control the range of the emitter, otherwise the field will simply continue to move in a line from the point of transmission until it dissipates.
A means needs to be found to shut the field down instantly. Currently there is a small probability that a powered-down field would withdraw back to the point of origin and crush the transmitter.
A suitable power supply needs to be found, the power needs of even a relatively small field are very high.
