A Typical Combat

A typical combat should break down into these phases.

The Actual Fighting

It is anticipated that most combats will be quite short since there is no way for a downed combatant to rejoin the fight. The intention is to provide small tactical challenges like choosing an ambush site, or the best assault route. It is hoped players will spend time preparing and planning to minimise bloodbaths.

Treating Personal Injuries

Downed players will need to treat their injuries.

Referee

The mission referee will come round, re-activate everyone's weapons and hand out any Wound Cards. Any questions the players need to ask can also happen now.

Treating Other Injuries & Looting

Crew members will stay in place when put down until they have been killed, healed, looted or a combination of those. If the crew member is no longer there then assume they were dead and had nothing of value on them. Once the crew member has been looted they will leave the area to go to the next encounter.

Hanging About

In some cases it will be useful for players to hang around in place for 4 or 5 minutes before setting off again to give the referee time to set up the next area. The referees will do their utmost to avoid this, but sometimes it cannot be helped.
