The Fizzy Well Anomaly

All organic and inorganic matter within this anomaly slowly becomes more and more electrically conductive over time, until all matter is fully conductive.
Electrical and electronic devices short out after about 90 seconds as increased conductivity in what should be insulating materials causes massive short circuits. It remains to be seen whether or not data stored on destroyed devices can still be retrieved.
Water left in the anomaly is being ingested by a group calling themselves the Creed of the Well, and first tests indicate it causes increased electrical activity in the brain. Exposure to the anomaly of about 120 seconds also causes the same effect. Continued exposure seems to cause a form of mental shutdown as the brain over-processes its surroundings.

Finished Research

Thorough analysis of the water samples taken from the well shows that the water has been altered at the subatomic level. While the water retains the standard molecular structure the individual atoms are no longer quite the same. As noted in initial scans, the water becomes significantly more electrically conductive. When ingested the water transfers a limited amount of that property to the imbiber. This has little to no effect on most of the body but it can cause some disruption to electrical activity in the brain. It would seem this transfer into the brain is what causes the temporary increased cognition. Over the longer term this activity is liable to break down long term memory leading to a form of dementia and then probably death.

Tests have been conducted using the data readings and a means of creating electrically conductive non-metals has been developed. It will require a trip to the anomaly in uptime to actually make the materials needed for a project.
